Get Involved
At Anchorage we need your involvement. The support of our community is essential to our being able to make a substantial and sustaining change in the lives of needy children, youth and their families.
While Anchorage Children's Home does obtain federal and state funding through grants and contracts to serve at-risk and abused, neglected and abandoned children; these funding sources frequently require private matching funds and do not provide enough support to pay for the total cost of essential services.
The generous financial support by our community partners and private individuals is critical to our ability to continue to be an Anchor for today's children and strengthen tomorrow's families. We need your help through financial and in-kind support.
There are two common ways to give financially: undesignated gifts through our Anchor Membership and designated gifts through Sponsorship.

By giving to the Anchor Fund, individuals, families and corporations become "Anchors" for our children and families through annual financial support. Gifts can be given incrementally during the year (i.e. monthly or quarterly) or in a single annual gift.
Without faithful giving, our programs could not provide the quality care and attention that our children deserve. Please consider giving to our Anchor Fund.
Gifts made in honor or in memory of love ones are exceptional ways of investing in the lives of children while recognizing the importance of that person in your life. Anchorage accepts these gifts and sends a special card to the honoree or the decedent's family, ensuring that they are aware of recognition given to them. If you wish to give a memorial or honoraria, please ensure to include contact information, for both the person being honored and the person to whom you wish the acknowledgement is to be sent, with your check when you send your gift.
Anchorage Children's Home is an affiliated member of the United Way of Northwest Florida and our program number is #061. If you participate in giving to United Way or the Combined Federal Campaign and specify Anchorage Children's Home as your designated agency, you will be supporting Anchorage directly through your gifts.

Anchor Fund
Gifts to the Anchor Fund are our most critical need in private support. Gifts to this fund are undesignated gifts that are used to support the annual financial needs related to serving hurting children and youth such as food, clothing, housing, supportive care, furnishings, transportation costs, and specialized services. The Anchor Fund gifts are used across programs, where ever the critical need is at the time. By giving to the Anchor Fund, individuals, families and corporations become "Anchors" for our children and families through annual financial support. Sponsorship
Sponsor gifts to particular programs and are used for identified purposes, such as clothing, recreational activities, books, and resident trips. Anchorage has a wide array of programs and each has a variety of needs on a daily basis. Sponsorship gifts are meant to direct funds to specific programs or needs of interest to the donor. To Anchorage, the intent of the donor is the key in stewarding designated gifts. Our development staff members review the needs of the program and intent of the donor prior to the acceptance of any designated gift to ensure an appropriate fit.
