Get Involved and Help Us
Anchorage Children’s Home has a constant need for community support and involvement. The support of our community is essential to our being able to make a substantial and sustaining change in the lives of needy children, youth and their families here in North Florida. Please review some of the many ways you can get involved and make a difference today.
Monetary Donations
While Anchorage Children's Home does obtain federal and state funding through grants and contracts to serve at-risk and abused, neglected and abandoned children; these funding sources frequently require private matching funds and do not provide enough support to pay for the total cost of essential services. The generous financial support by our community partners and private individuals is critical to our ability to continue to be an Anchor for today's children and strengthen tomorrow's families.
Please consider making a secure donation now.
Needs & Wishes
We have regular Needs & Wishes from within our various programs that need help with. These are often more easily provided (over cash) by caring, community individuals that want to be a part of our cause. If giving money is not something you can do, please consider donating something we have a need for. Please visit our Needs & Wishes webpage for our current listings.
Sponsorship
Sponsor gifts to particular programs and are used for identified purposes, such as clothing, recreational activities, books, and resident trips. Anchorage has a wide array of programs and each has a variety of needs on a daily basis. Sponsorship gifts are meant to direct funds to specific programs or needs of interest to the donor. To Anchorage, the intent of the donor is the key in stewarding designated gifts. Our development staff members review the needs of the program and intent of the donor prior to the acceptance of any designated gift to ensure an appropriate fit.
Memorials and Honoraria
Gifts made in honor or in memory of love ones are exceptional ways of investing in the lives of children while recognizing the importance of that person in your life. Anchorage accepts these gifts and sends a special card to the honoree or the decedent's family, ensuring that they are aware of recognition given to them. If you wish to give a memorial or honoraria, please ensure to include contact information, for both the person being honored and the person to whom you wish the acknowledgement is to be sent, with your check when you send your gift.
United Way
Anchorage Children's Home is an affiliated member of the United Way of Northwest Florida and our program number is #061. If you participate in giving to United Way and specify Anchorage Children's Home as your designated agency, you will be supporting Anchorage directly through your gifts.
Special Events
Anchorage receives some funding through Special Events. Each fall, Anchorage hosts the highly anticipated “Champions for Children” golf tournament at Holiday Golf Club in Panama City Beach, FL. The event brings golfers from all over to join in on the fun to support our programs serving abused and homeless youth. We need volunteers, sponsors and participants to ensure that these events are successful. Please consider how you would be willing to be involved. We have various levels of support to ensure every business, big or small, can be a part of these special events. If you or your business is interested in becoming a sponsor or registering a team, contact Brooke Bullard at bbullard@achkids.org.
If you are planning a fundraiser to benefit our agency, please contact Brooke Bullard to discuss our agency policies and procedures regarding fundraising practices.
In-Kind Gifts
With its variety of residential and non-residential programs, Anchorage has the ability to make effective use of many different items and services donated by its friends in the community. Each program maintains a Needs List identifying current needs of the program which may vary from time to time. These needs can include clothes, food, utensils, pots and pans, linens, towels, furniture, vehicles and services. We are not accepting used clothing and household items at this time.
If you have any questions about how you can ensure Anchorage's ongoing success in changing children's lives or if you would like more information about any of these opportunities to give, please contact Brooke at 850-763-7102.
