Position: Executive Director

Description: The Executive Director serves as the chief leader of Anchorage Children’s Home, working closely with the Board of Directors and staff to provide vision, strategic direction, and operational leadership in support of the agency’s mission. This position oversees all aspects of the organization and is responsible for implementing Board-approved policies and strategic plans and representing Anchorage positively within the community and with partner agencies. Overall, the role requires a mission-driven, collaborative leader who can inspire others, manage complex operations, and guide the organizational growth toward long-term stability and impact.



 

Position: Clinical Supervisor

Description: The Clinical Supervisor position provides direct supervision to Youth and Family Counselors and provides clinical consultation to staff members of other programs within the Agency. This position reports directly to the Clinical Director and is a full-time, salaried position.

Ideal Candidate: Strong verbal and written communication skills. The capacity to develop an overall agency vision. The ability to motivate, energize, and empower others, and guide staff in their therapeutic skills and abilities. The ability to work with and through others to identify and achieve common goals and approach conflicts and solution strategies through group involvement. The capacity to work positively and effectively communicate with the community and other agencies and groups on behalf of the clients we serve.

Minimum Requirements: This position requires a master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field.

 


 

Position: Food Service Manager - Hidle House

Description: The Food service manager’s role involves direct planning and preparing of menus, cooking, cleaning, and grocery shopping to accomplish the agency’s mission of serving, protecting, and strengthening children, families, and communities.

The food service manager does not supervise any staff and will be directly supervised by the shelter manager or assistant shelter manager. The food service manager works with the direct care staff and shelter supervisors regarding the implementation of food service to the residents of the shelter.

A successful candidate will possess the ability to set healthy boundaries and maintain the role of helper. They will respect diversity and have an understanding of youth development with the ability to intervene appropriately and promote youth empowerment. A successful candidate will also have the ability to work alongside co-workers, supervisors and community partners and build and maintain positive professional relationships.

Tasks will include:

• Planning and preparing weekly menus and ensuring that alternatives are available for dietary restrictions as needed.

• Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner in accordance with work schedule and prepare meals for scheduled days off in advance to ensure menu is followed.

• Conduct all grocery and kitchen shopping and maintain food cost within the approved budget.
• Responsible for cleaning and maintaining sanitary conditions in the kitchen and dining areas according to state standards.

• Maintain inventory of food and kitchen supplies, stock items as needed, and monitor all aspects of food service in the shelter.

• Provide limited assistance to shelter staff on occasion.

Minimum Requirements: This position requires a high school diploma or GED.

Position: Youth Specialist / Both Full Time and Part Time 

Description:The successful candidate will provide motivation, leadership, structure, and day-to-day supervision and development to the adolescent youth in the Hidle House Shelter.

The Youth Specialist supervises resident youth in a 24-hour awake program and works closely with the Residential Counselors, who are responsible for clinical services provided in the shelter. Candidates hired must be able to work shifts.

Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. Prefer applicants to have 1 year of experience working with adolescents or children. Must possess a valid driver's license.

Position: Resident Advisor

Description: The successful candidate will provide mentorship and leadership for youth ages 16 to 21 who reside in a transitional living clustered apartment setting.

This position provides supervision, recreation, basic life skills training, and transportation for youth and requires the flexibility to work all shifts, days, evenings, and weekend hours as needed.

Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required and preferably 2 years of experience working with youth. Must possess a valid driving license.
